Here’s What To Look Forward To in 2021

2020. What a year it was.

Whether it's the way we work, the way we live or the way we look at the future, everything just changed drastically. Looking from a cup-half-full point of view though, the one huge lesson 2020 has taught us is to slow down and get back to basics.

As this roller coaster year heads toward a close with 2021 just around the corner, our hope is getting higher for a better New Year. The good news is, there's a list of things that are already in store for us in 2021 for what we missed out in 2020. Here are just some of the exciting things that we can look forward to.

  1. The Covid-19 vaccine

While the time frame for distribution remains ambiguous, we will all likely be able to get the vaccine next year. Hopefully the distribution will run smoothly so that we can restore safety and normalcy in the world.

     2. Bye Bye Masks and Hello Human Hugs

Once we reach herd immunity, when between 50% and 70% of the population is vaccinated, masks will no longer be recommended. And hopefully by then, the borders will be opened for us to reunite with our loved ones and make up for the ungodly amount of lost time. Also not forgetting all the celebrations, such as a birthday party, a wedding event or even a graduation ceremony that we can attend in person! Let's admit it, even though technology enables us to have virtual celebrations, something just doesn't feel right. It's just not enough!

  1. Schools Reopening

Don't you just love the sight of corridors packed with children with laughter echoing every corner of the school? Seats in the classrooms filled, sounds of book flipping and students reading out loud. It's a wonderful sight to anticipate.

  1. Opportunities

Sadly, unemployment numbers rose sharply in 2020. But we can be hopeful that when the vaccination program rolls out, employment rate will increase as we go ease back to normalcy. So when opportunity comes knocking on your door, make sure to be ready to answer it!

  1. Long Awaited Getaway

Travelling feels like something we took for granted when we could easily move internationally prior to the pandemic. Naturally, when all this is over, we want to hop on that plane to see the world again. Sandy beaches and exotic foods, here we come!

We can't predict what 2021 will be. But if we've been resilient and made it through 2020, 2021 will be the year of compensation. Bring it on!
